PHOTOGRAPHER'S THOUGHTS:
I have enjoyed taking pictures ever since my dad handed me his camera and said, "Take a picture of the family." It was not until 2000, however, that I became seriously interested in photography as a form or art and a way of documenting events.
My main camera these days is the Nikon D40, with a variety of Nikkor lenses, but I still enjoy shooting my 1967 Ricoh Singlex TLS, which is shown in my user picture along with a Vivitar 200mm lens.
I've been taking photos for years, but I did not start a photoblog until April 2008, after losing my cat to FHL (liver disease). My blog serves as a way of chronicling my life through pictures: my pets, friends, neighborhood, home state, places I've been, and people I've met.
I am currently trying to add one photo for each day of the calendar, and hopefully will be able to continue doing that for many years to come. There isn't one single subject matter I photograph, so the pictures are varied and, hopefully, interesting.
